Lime Crime Red Velvet Lipstick

Hi it’s G,

This post will be about one shade of Lime Crime Lipstick (red velvet). I don’t have any Lime Crime lipstick but I love using the one S has, it turned out to be a Clique for both of us. Its a classic red velvet color. Matches all skin tones, such a vivid red shade. Its suitable for all seasons, which is Halo. Its formula is thin and it is easily applicable using the applicator. Even though it’s a thin formula, you don’t need many layers, for me one layer was enough. But if you want a darker shade and a thicker lip coverage you can apply more layers.

Your lips might feel a little dry after applying the lipstick. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to share my trick when applying Lime Crime lipstick. Unlike other lipstick, I like to apply Lime Crime Lipstick first and wait for it to dry, then apply a layer of lip balm on top. Or you can do what we all do and apply the lip balm first, it’s up to you. It is a long-lasting formula, so you don’t have to worry about reapplying the lipstick every hour. I used the lipstick all day today and the color lasted for 6 hours on my lips.

P.S G I have dry lips, so that might affect how long lipsticks last on me.

Hey everyone it’s S 🙂

I bought this matte liquid lipstick last summer and I’ve used it a couple of times since then. I love the shade of red and I love how it turns out after I apply it. However I noticed couple of downsides to it (nothing is perfect). The first thing is that you have to apply lip balm before you put it on or you’ll end up with chapped lips..not pretty. Second is it doesn’t last a long time, I noticed it start to crack on my lips and it needs reapplying every two hours or so. I’d say I wouldn’t need to apply it if I’m just going out for coffee, but if I have to apply again if I’m wearing it all day. I’ve also noticed that it tends to bleed outside of my lip line, so in order to avoid that I used a red lipliner first to fill in my lips.

Overall I wouldn’t say it’s a horrible product, but I’d recommend it for going out but not as a staple red in your makeup collection.

xoxo,
